How Kromasil was made available to laboratories
Kromasil was introduced to the chromatographic community in 1988 by a group of scientists at Eka Chemicals in Sweden, offering unique and unmatched spherical porous silica particles with outstanding properties from the very beginning. The combination of high pore volume and surface area, together with very high mechanical stability gave a material with the best chromatographic efficiency at any production scale. The philosophy of Kromasil has been to offer the same cutting-edge chromatographic properties for all materials for any usage from analytical determination to full-scale production. This is still a unique feature of Kromasil today.
The power of kromasil in each column
The mechanical strength of Kromasil is a key feathure when HPLC columns are packed, allowing high pressure during packing. This ensure that the silica bed stability will not be compromized even when running att the highest flow rate/back pressure available on common HPLC systems (400 bar)
All Kromasil original columns are slurry packed and rigorously tested to pass QC criteria, individually. Each column has an identification enssuring total tracability.
